Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5 uses standard shooter movement plus separate menus for inventory, map, squad/medical actions, vehicles, and the Realtime Game Editor. The defaults below are community documented for the current generation and can be rebound. If a key does nothing, check the live Options screen and the context shown near the interaction before assuming the feature was removed.
Essential on-foot controls
Mouse wheel changes camera zoom or first/third-person view where the mode allows it. Operation Typhoon added a no-crosshair option and a Minimal HUD setting; if expected information disappears, inspect those options before troubleshooting the weapon.
Weapons and interaction habits
Left mouse fires and right mouse aims for the documented default layout. Reload, fire-mode, accessory, stabilization, and point-aim functions depend on the current weapon and binding. The 10.0 changelog record places point aiming on B by default and says holding F can deploy compatible bipods or stabilization devices on a suitable surface.
Do not hold an interaction while standing between two usable objects. Look directly at the intended door, seat, item, or station and read the selected action. If a mounted accessory has multiple modes, use the current action menu instead of memorizing an old hotkey list.
Ground vehicle controls
Ground vehicles use directional movement with steering tied to the left/right inputs. Community documentation notes that mouse freelook can control the steering wheel when enabled. Before leaving the FOB, test acceleration, braking/reverse, steering, camera, lights, seat changes, mounted systems, and the vehicle action menu.
Different vehicles have different seats and installed equipment. The same key can perform a different action for a driver, gunner, or passenger. Stop the vehicle before opening a complex menu. A driver should tell the squad before changing seats because an unattended vehicle can roll, block a road, or expose everyone.
Use the Ground Vehicles guide for travel and parking decisions rather than trying to learn them during a firefight.
Helicopter default controls
Current community helicopter documentation lists Space to increase collective and ascend, Shift to reduce collective and descend, W/S to pitch forward/back, A/D to roll, and Q/E to yaw. X enables autohover. Left Alt switches to mouse steering. Compatible aircraft can use R for a fast rope and T for countermeasures; those actions require the installed system.
Start the engine through the Tab menu, wait for the rotor to spool, keep the aircraft grounded with reduced collective, then lift gradually. Practice a hover, shallow forward movement, a stop, and a landing away from obstacles. See Helicopter Controls for the full sequence.
RGE, radio, and HUD controls
Community records list P for the Realtime Game Editor, but editor use is restricted to a private server you own or one where you have administrator access. It will not open as a normal editor in public Openworld or Competitive play. F8 toggles the HUD on PC, sometimes requiring the laptop’s function modifier. A bracket key can control radio visibility depending on the current binding.
Use these sparingly. Turning off the HUD or radio can hide information you need for an objective. Test a custom scenario in a private session before inviting a squad.
Console and mobile differences
The official experience supports console and mobile, but not every PC action has a one-button equivalent. Console prompts are contextual and may use hold combinations or radial menus. Mobile uses touch controls, and Operation Typhoon added separate driving/flying layouts plus a move-and-scale editor.
Do not convert a PC key table into a mobile claim. Open the relevant mode, enter a safe area, and verify every visible control. If you use a controller with a tablet or phone, the prompts may switch when the device is detected.
Fix controls that feel wrong
First reset only the affected category if the menu supports it. Then choose a sensitivity with which you can track a doorway, make a 180-degree turn, and stop precisely. Move frequently used actions close to movement fingers; keep rare editor or cosmetic functions farther away. Avoid binding two essential actions to the same input unless the game clearly separates tap and hold.
After an update, test on foot, ground vehicle, and helicopter settings separately. A comfortable infantry sensitivity may be too aggressive for mouse steering in a helicopter. Record your numeric values so you can restore them after experimenting.
Evidence status
Platform support is official. On-foot, vehicle, helicopter, and editor defaults are community documented, with Operation Typhoon interface additions supported by the October 2026 changelog record. Exact console prompts, rebinding behavior, weapon-specific actions, and mobile layouts need a live check on the device you use.
