Blackhawk Rescue Mission 5 officially advertises more than 70 weapon choices and more than 100 attachments. That breadth makes “best gun” a mode and player question, not a single permanent answer. Start with the engagement range, ammunition supply, controllability, weight, attachment compatibility, and whether the kit must survive Openworld travel, PvP rounds, or Zombies extraction.

Choose a weapon family by job
Assault rifles and carbines are the general-purpose center because they can cover close-to-medium fights without forcing the player into one route. Designated marksman rifles trade speed and close handling for deliberate distance. Sniper rifles are strongest when the map, visibility, and squad give them time to identify and engage. Submachine guns and compact weapons favor close spaces and mobility. Machine guns support sustained fire and area control but impose weight, handling, and ammunition demands. Sidearms are backups, not substitutes for planning a primary.
Those are roles, not promises about every named weapon. The current gunsmith can change barrel, optic, muzzle, grip, stock, magazine, accessory, and visual choices depending on the platform. A modular rifle can still be a bad purchase when its ammunition, unlock, or total build cost exceeds your budget.
Match the mode
In Openworld, reliability and ammunition endurance matter. You may fight at several distances, travel far from resupply, and need space for medical or mission items. A controllable rifle plus a modest optic is usually easier to sustain than a heavy specialty kit.
In PvP, sight acquisition, movement, map range, and repeatable shot placement matter more than the ability to carry a long expedition inventory. Fast close-range weapons can excel on short lanes, while a longer map rewards a rifle or marksman role. Match rules and damage behavior can differ from Openworld.
In Zombies, pressure comes from multiple threat types, interior routes, supplies, and extraction. Community advice often values common ammunition and weapons that remain controllable when enemies close distance. A squad can support a machine gun or long-range role more easily than a solo player.
Build attachments from the optic outward
Choose the optic for the actual range. A clear low-magnification sight helps close movement; a variable or magnified optic supports identification and deliberate shots; an offset or backup sight only earns weight and complexity if you use it. Confirm that the mount fits the weapon.
Add a muzzle device only for a defined reason: sound reduction, flash, or handling behavior documented in the current gunsmith. A suppressor can support stealth but does not erase misses, bullet impacts, bodies, nearby enemies, or vehicle noise. Operation Typhoon specifically says vehicle sounds can alert enemies, so the entire approach matters.
Use grips, stocks, barrels, and magazines to solve control, balance, or capacity needs, then retest weight and movement. A part that improves a displayed value can still obstruct vision or make the weapon unpleasant on mobile.
Use current names without copying old stats
The Operation Typhoon record lists additions such as the M16A1, Model 723, MP5SD, Mk 12, Mk 20 variants, Mk 46, Mk 48, and new accessories. It also records adjusted mass values and mounting changes. That is why this hub does not freeze damage, recoil, price, or unlock numbers from an older table.
Treat the Weapons List as a known-family index, then check the live store, gunsmith, Headquarters research, or mission reward for the current acquisition path.
Compare weapons fairly
Test on the same mode, range, stance, optic, ammunition, and input device. Fire slow single shots, a controlled string, and a movement-to-aim transition. Record how quickly you find the sight, keep rounds on target, reload, and recover. Do not compare a fully built rifle against an unmodified purchase and call the result a weapon property.
For a mission decision, add the full cost: weapon, essential optic, compatible muzzle/grip, magazines, ammunition, and any unlock or research time. A cheaper familiar platform can advance progression faster than a theoretically stronger gun that empties the bank.
Build squad roles without duplication
A small squad benefits from complementary roles: a general rifle, close security, deliberate distance, and support/medical coverage. Everyone still needs a weapon that works when isolated. Avoid four identical long-range kits that cannot clear a room or four close-range kits that cannot control an approach.
Call ammunition families and special equipment before deployment. Shared or compatible supply can simplify long missions, but current compatibility must be checked in game. Vehicle storage can extend a route, yet it is not available if the vehicle is destroyed or parked too far away.
Avoid these weapon mistakes
Universal tier list
A ranking without mode, date, build, and comparison method hides the tradeoff you actually need.
Attachment shopping spree
Buy one functional improvement, test it, and preserve Credits for ammunition, transport, and Headquarters goals.
Magnification mismatch
More zoom can reduce awareness and slow close fights. Choose for expected distance.
Ignoring total weight
The 10.0 record ties equipment foley to character weight; heavy kits also shape practical movement and inventory space.
A practical purchase order
Use existing/free gear, buy a readable optic, confirm ammunition and medical budget, then choose one weapon upgrade that fills a repeated gap. Add only compatible attachments that solve sight, control, signature, or utility problems. Save a working loadout before experimenting, and keep enough Credits to deploy again after a failed mission.
Evidence status
Weapon and attachment counts are official. Named Operation Typhoon additions and mass/mounting changes are community-reported from the detailed 10.0 changelog record. Catalog stats, prices, research paths, recoil, damage, and rankings require current in-game testing and should always include a date and mode.
